Saturday night with less than a full restaurant. Sangria special 20 minutes between order and only received after asking the waitress what happened. Fresh fish special for $25 was not fresh - clearly frozen. Wine requested with dinner not received until half through the meal. Bad food and service.

Ate here again, always have had a good meal here. Tonight it was filets for both me and my wife. They were cooked as ordered and were tasty. One boy got the chicken carbonara and liked it. Have had their seafood on previous visits and was impressed with it as well.

What a 'meh' experience. First and foremost, as a graphic designer, I'd like to cry foul. From their website and signage logo... Bonfire says 'fire! fun! meat!'. From the white linens and button-up / tie combo waiters, the experience is far more 'sit down! shut up! pay a bunch of money for mediocre fare!'. Bonfire ought to invest in a better typographer. But I digress. We ate out with a large-ish party (including my folks, and family friends), and were promptly sat. The dining room was uncomfortably warm. Perhaps no one notified them that it was darn near 70 degrees outside. Immediately after being seated I realized the hostess didn't bring enough menus / place settings / waters. I raised a hand to a passing waiter. Everyone at the table saw my motion. The waiter looked at me, and quickly snapped his head away... blatantly playing the 'if I didn't see him, I don't have to deal with him' card. Fail. He came back around a few minutes later. I made the request. If eye rolls were audible, this one was deafening. A few minutes later, a menu, water, and place setting were brought. Oh how hard it must have been to fetch! Orders are placed, and food is delivered quickly. The french onion soup was delightfully mediocre. Salty broth with a crouton already so sopped with liquid it was just a mealy sponge beneath a slab of cheap mozz. Boo. Fresh warm bread was delivered, and ultimately it was the best thing I had personally at the meal. My entree, the coconut shrimp was about what you'd expect from TGIFridays. Overcooked, overly sweet, with runny-loose cocktail sauce. I might add that coconut shrimp shouldn't go with cocktail sauce. Even Joe's Crab Shack knows that. Oh well. The double baked potato and limp broccoli on the plate were both about as good as the shrimp. My wife ordered shrimp and scallops over fettuccine. The portion was immense, but per her experience, not good enough to doggy bag home. That is to say we took it home, but if it gets eaten, I'll eat my hat. My father ordered Pork Chops, and seemed to have had a much better experience. Far be it from me to have intelligently ordered a grilled item from a place obviously specializing in chops and steaks. Truly, that is my bad. But that being said, getting the food I did, at the price they charge? Not worth the money. I would sooner suggest any other number of chop houses around the Orland/Tinley area. Ultimately Bonfire shoots for a 'high end' suburban restaurant, but ends up pitching on par with it's lesser cousins. If I am forced to return (cause face it, we south suburbanites don't have the plethora of options city-folk do...), I'm opting for something a bit more steaky.

We were there with a large party. All the food was OK - but only OK. Bland and boring. For the prices charged, it should have been much, much, better. They did not provide enough servers for the size of our party - two for 45 people (should have been at least 4) but the two servers provided excellent service considering they were overworked.

My mom lives near here so we tired it twice. Both times we have been sorely disappointed. First time we went near the end of lunch service and it seemed that from the bread to the main dishes was stuff that had sat around. It was stale, hard and dry. The next time was more with in the main lunch hour and things seemed fresher but the flavors were very bland. It seems this place has a lot of senior clientele and maybe they are catering to thier type of palate. For the price they charge I would choose a more tastier establishment.

Disclaimer: I ate here on Christmas Eve and I was not paying. I had been here before, over four years ago, and remember liking it but don't recall enough that I can really base my rating on it. After several years of dining at 94 West on Christmas Eve with my husband and his family, we switched things up this year with a trip to Bonfire. The first, small annoyance was some confusion over seating. The grandparents hadn't arrived yet and they seemed unwilling to seat us right away, but dithered about and eventually did. Then there weren't enough chairs at the table, so the whole long table had to be moved out away from the wall to add chairs at each end. Overall, service was adequate but not what you would expect from a higher-end, classy steakhouse type place. (OK, so this isn't Super Uber Fancy Steakhouse, but still.) They were all sort of discombobulated and not really "with it". I was eager to try something that sounded totally delicious: lamb loin, rubbed in olive oil and greek spices. I ordered it medium. I've mostly eaten lamb in Indian dishes (off the bone) and gyros/burgers, so I really don't know if it's always difficult to tell where the bone itself ends and the meat begins, but it was a teeny bit disappointing. The flavor was *awesome*, the marinade was super good, but most of the meat was medium-well and well -- I guess I should have ordered it medium-rare? Definitely overcooked and somewhat tough/fatty at points. The garlic mashed that came with were super-tasty, as was the complimentary bread and the salad. Overall, the fam seemed pretty happy with their food, my husband enjoyed his ribs and I saw a lot of happy steak eaters. I wish my lamb had been a little better, cooked properly it would've been close to amazing. This isn't someplace we'd generally come on our own anyway, but if I were to recommend it I would say definitely don't come on a super-busy holiday eve.

Visited on 11/09/2012. This is our 3rd visit, hoping for a better experience. We will not be back. This place needs to replace the bartender because every time we come here, the drinks are not good. At far as food is concerned, we ordered two specials, Stuffed Tilapia and Porterhouse Steak with Blue Cheese, with typical cheap-and-easy to make broccoli. We did eat the majority of both because we were starving, but they were just okay, no wow factor. The food is not worth what your paying. Some of these restaurants forget that people go to restaurants to experience better food and drink than what they could make at home. Homer Glen is supposed to be high class living, but the town has low-class restaurants. See my other review of the Purple Onion Restaurant in Homer Glen.

I've eaten here several times for both lunch and dinner. The service has always been fine and everything ordered has been very tasty & freshly made. Portions are a bit large, and they bring warm mini-loaves of bread without asking. My special favorite is their Chicken Marsala. The vegetable soup is the best I've ever tasted.

Went there on a Monday, it was dead. The server was polite, but did not tell us about the Monday free glass of wine special, nor did he tell us about any meal specials. Every time we looked for him we could see hm out the window smoking, in the front of the restaurant. YEAH! That's how you attract customers! Have your waitstaff greeting customer with a cigarette when they arrive! Food was OK but way overpriced and the service was what I would expect from Denny's. I won't be back.

OK this is the first time I have reviewed a place but have always wanted to. Been in the restaurant business all my life. The wait staff worked very hard and they were really nice. The chef needs to know when food is good and bad, the burger meat was old and overcooked. 2 of us at the meal had a burger, one didn't eat it at all, I tried it,, really one of the worst I have had. Salad is nothing special. Would never go back unless kitchen nightmares did a revamp.

My wife, mom and I had a good dinner here. My prime rib was nicely done and tasty as was the wife's salmon and moms chick picatta. I was a little put off w an extra charge on the drink .75 because I had it straight-up. So because they couldn't load the drink w ice rather than alcohol they charge more. Not that the drink was $4-5 but was $7 then add .75 ?

Went there last night and had the special which was a Parmesan crusted filet and 1 lb of crab legs. It was awesome! The salad was fresh and the warm bread was excellent! There was a crabby old guy at the table next to us that did nothing but complain from the moment that he sat down while his wife sat there and sneered. His steak was cooked perfectly but he complained that it was too big to be a serloin and complained that they served broccoli as the vegetable. The wait staff handled him well even though he was do obnoxious.

Very disappointed with the meal. It seems the place is having an identity crisis because they are a Greek restaurant, but their logo says steaks, chops, and seafood. The wife's salmon was frozen and kind of bland and my teriyaki steak had a good deal of fatty pieces in it while our rice and veggies were okay at best. Wait staff was okay, but the place is far different from the outside than the inside. Speaking of the inside, it was definitely in need of a good cleaning. Too bad because I have passed it dozens of times waiting to try it out and probably will not go back.

The cumulative rating of this restaurant is way too low IMO, but many of the criticisms are correct. Yes, this place does draw a bit of an older crowd, but the decor is not dated. I'm not sure why having real tablecloths is a negative thing in some of the reviews. The atmosphere is welcoming and it's a great place for a sit down meal where someone actually comes and waits on you. This is kind of rare in this area of pizza places and Italian beef stands. My family goes there very often (3 times a month maybe). Our favorite items are the steaks, prime rib, sea bass, and lamb chops. Also, they nearly always have a good seafood special. My only criticism on the food is they often run their steak specials with added shrimp or crab legs. On those specials, they put a blue-cheese encrusted blob of yuckiness on top of their steak....it's really awful texturally, so I always just scrape it off. Their wine list is good and competitively priced of the area. For an appetizer, we like the octopus. For dessert, their créme brulée is always good. We've been there when they have been very busy -- our service is consistently outstanding. That's the real word to highlight in this review. "Consistent." We go to Bonfire because we know we will always have an enjoyable experience. It's a good local place that really fills a void in this area.

This is a good restaurant to head out to on a better than average weeknight. The service is typically pretty solid, the drinks are good, and the food is typically on par with what you'd expect. It's not always worth the price you're dropping here, but occasionally you'll hit a winner. I was lucky enough to get their rib eye with a bruschetta and cheese topper. Probably the best meal I have ever had there. I've been there enough over the years to know they're not all winners, but this specialty was well worth it.

The burger was good (according to my wife)....the prime rib was good but not great. The horseradish was a sauce and not pure. Iceberg lettuce in salads. Good bread. Our server was great. Not a must go, but a good alternative when looking.

I visited this Homer Glen Restaurant many times over the years and must admit it has seen better days. As my husband and I walked into the lobby we noticed that the hall mats needed to be vacuumed. We also noticed that the menus were very worn on the edges. That gave the restaurant a definitely shabby feel. Pushing on, we ordered our dinner. The porterhouse steak with the shrimp kabobs was superb. I also ordered the chicken fettuccine carbonara which was okay. Our only complaints about the meal were the salad and the bread and coffee. The iceberg lettuce looked like it had been frozen and quickly defrosted. It was terrible. A little tomato and some shredded carrots with a cucumber slice. Yuck. The bread was tasteless and the coffee was weak and tasteless. The waitress was wonderful. If they could focus on improving the lettuce and coffee they might have more customers. The place has always been dead when we have arrived lately. I think we will stop going there for a while.

I ate there for the first time last month and it was really good. Service was nice food was even better. I did go at lunch time and the prices were reasonable. I am taking my wife and kids tonight and hopefully its as good as last time .... I will write another review and see if it's consistent. It seems every time I find a great place I brag about go back and it's not as good. My favorite was Enrico's in Frankfort it was always great.... So I'm keeping my fingers cross ....

We came here for a nice family dinner and left feeling a bit unimpressed. There was really nothing wrong or bad with the food or staff, there just was not anything that wowed us here. We had an asortment of dishes b/t the six of us ranging from steak to seafood. I would probably not come back again.

Ceaser salad was horrible. They need to rework the whole recipe. My fiancée ordered steak well, and the blood was dripping off. Had to send it back. The clientele is a bit old. Other than us, there was no one under 40. Drinks are iced up. Nice servers and good selection of appetizers.

Uummm ok. I was attending a birthday party. . We all ordered appetizers: mushrooms, crab cakes, and I ordered the calamari. TWICE I asked where my calamari was. .twice I was told it was coming...I never got it. Two of the ladies sent their crab cakes back..said they were processed and not real crab. I had the parmesan crusted grouper with Greek potatoes. .it was ok. Too much breading on the grouper...end pieces were dried out.. Potatoes tasted like they were cooked yesterday. . Glad the fellowship was fantastic.

This is another of those steak joints that hark back to another era. Older crowd ... nothing for young kids, neither food nor fun ... real tablecloths ... a bit dressier dress code than the usual. And with all that said, the food was pretty good but did not quite match up to the prices. One of our party had the fish special of the day - something like a tilapia tower, and one had the prime rib. Both were good but nothing to hurry back for. As to the fish, perfectly respectable but NBD. We suspect sticking with the steaks is the way to go. As to the prime rib, nice size but just not near a Lawry's quality. If size is your thing, come on down. You get a complete meal in a nice dining room setting, but it just wasn't our cup of tea. Drink service was pretty nice and they had a reasonable selection ... prices were a bit high though and portions were not generous. Our waitress did a nice job. There is absolutely no big thing wrong with this place, but just as importantly there is no big draw to bring us back.

I can't vouch for the dinner experience since I've never tried it. This is a great place for lunch! Food is excellent, the bonfire burger is awesome as is everything else on the lunch menu. Portions are large, prices are cheap and the service is good

Iv came here a few times this is the second time I came for my birthday and I always have a good time. The food is really good and fulfilling. Very nice and comfortable atmosphere and it's usually busy, but not loud which is perfect. I had the filet and pound if crab legs with potato all that good stuff

The food here was good, not superb, and the service was terrible. We were seated in a separate, empty room which soon filled up with other guests who were all eating before we had even ordered! Our waitress asked for our drink order as soon as we sat down so we asked for a minute to look over the menu. She rattled off the specials and came back nearly 30 minutes later and only because we asked another server to go get her. Instead of an apology for the wait or an explanation, we were met with attitude and indignance. The rest of the evening, she acted like we were inconveniencing her and after all our trouble, she rushed to get our plates and get us out quickly. Some of the other servers seemed embarrassed for her but no one, including our server or the hostess, said goodbye as we left. We will never be coming back to Bonfire.

Hubs took me here to help me unwind after a rather stressful project and it was a homerun for relaxation. We both had Prime Rib, two different cuts, his was a bit too rare for him, but hey with Prime Rib, rare is good to me. We also had their amazing Crab Cakes with jumbo lump crab and a fantastic remoulade to go along with. The relaxation came in the form of 'bottomless' glasses of wine. No Bonfire doesn't offer 'bottomless' wine, that was something my Husband was treating me to. :) Dinner for 2 with much needed drinks for 1 was about 115 including tip. Not too bad.

I stopped in for a drink just to kill some time. A classy place, to be sure, but one drink was about all I could afford. I usually only see such prices at high-rolling Chicago or St. Louis bars.

I came here with my husband on Saturday afternoon (the 14th) for my mother-in-law's birthday. I made sure to study both menus online before we got there, since I wasn't exactly sure if we would be eating lunch, or dinner. After reading the reviews here, I knew I needed to be careful about what I ordered. Also, I do have a shellfish allergy, and I noticed they served a LOT of seafood, so of course I had to let the server know in case anyone else in the restaurant ordered something with shellfish. When I let her know, she seemed confused - surely she knows they DO serve shellfish...I would like to not end up in a hospital because a piece of shrimp somehow ended up on my sandwich (which, thankfully...it did not). Anyway, when we arrived at around 3 pm, it was dead. Maybe a few people but that was it. I expected way more business approaching the early dinner hours, especially on a Saturday. Our server seemed, how can I put it.....robotic. She had no personality whatsoever, and it really didn't set the tone for the rest of my Bonfire experience. I noticed she was the ONLY server working. For appetizers everyone ordered the spinach artichoke dip and saganaki. I hated the saganaki.....it was way too salty and greasy for my taste. The spinach artichoke dip was okay at best, I thought they should have provided more pita chips. They gave us a small loaf of freshly baked bread (I assumed it was fresh, it was quite warm), but that was excellent. We were all given an option for soup or salad, and I got the salad since I wasn't sure how the cream of chicken soup would taste. Turns out, I should've gotten the soup. My salad was terrible. No dark leafy greens to be found. ONE slice of tomato and a few pieces of cheese, or carrots, I can't remember. I tried hubby's soup, and it was delicious. I almost wanted to switch. It didn't look like they took any care it preparing the salad, almost as if it was thrown together in a bag and plopped on a plate. Everyone ordered something different. My husband ordered the cedar plank salmon, and I managed to find something I could eat, which was the Vegetable Bistro sandwich - it was served on a tomato focaccia bread, with provolone, zucchini, green peppers and onions. I thought it tasted pretty good, but I would've liked more variety in the garden veggies. It came with steak fries, with no seasoning whatsoever, I had to put on my own salt and pepper, which really isn't a big deal. My husband really didn't like the salmon. He said it didn't taste like....anything, really. The sauce covered up the lack of any salmon flavor in the fish. All it came with was a tiny potato and a 1/4 piece of corn on the cob. We never saw the server again until it was time for the check. She never came around to see how we were doing, even when we were the only group in the restaurant. Even the "manager" - I saw her walk past us once, and never stopped by to see how everything was. In any establishment that considers themselves to be "high end", I've always seen the manager floating around, checking on his/her customers. Not once did I see her do this. I'm glad nothing was wrong with our meals, because if it was...I'm afraid we wouldn't have gotten any help in getting it fixed. This is the second time in six months I've been to a sub-par "steakhouse", and even though the place gives you the feeling it's high-end, the quality of the food seemed like it didn't reflect that. If it weren't for my m-i-l's birthday, I would never have thought to try this place. If you're in the area and looking for somewhere nice to have lunch or dinner, just keep driving, trust me.

This place need work. On the food & the service. The planked salmon was not at all what I expected and was gross. It was not cooked on the plank. It's put on this fake wood platter after it's cooked. Very weird. & not good at all. Cooking salmon on a cedar plank is delicious. They should try it. Then the octopus was so rubbery & fishy we couldn't even eat it. When we complained to the waitress she shrugged her shoulders & said "I wouldn't know how it's supposed to taste, I don't eat the stuff". & walked away without removing the octopus. & didn't get a manager involved or offer to have it redone. Nothing!! Could of cared less. This was her attitude through out the whole meal. When we got there to meet our party we wanted to say hi and hug our aunt & uncle, but we like sat down and she didn't even say hi, she just asked what we wanted to drink & from there on out we felt rush to order & rushed through the meal. She was very cold & it made us feel like we were bothering her that she had to serve us our food. I'm a sever as well & I would never make my full potential of money by not pleasing my guests by not making a crappy meal right or caring less about the guests experience sitting in my station. I just don't understand how servers just don't understand their job.. It's not just about tossing gross food on the table and saying eat it I don't care if you aren't happy with it. eat it & get out so I can piss off the next guests that sits here & get another 10 o/o tip cuz I suck at my job & the only way I'm going to make any money is to turn these tables. It should be about quality not quantity. The whole experience just made the food taste even worse. This place can be the place off the beaten path that people will go to if you train the servers to care when some one is complaining and fix it. You won't know if no one tells you. I didn't complain cuz we were with family and I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable. But I won't be back. & if I'm writing this, and I'm a server. How many of friends and guests that come into my work do you think I'm telling about the experience. And I'm only one person. Come on you guys can do better.

I expected so much more. I guess I should have come here and read the reviews before we decided to bring our daughter here for her birthday dinner. For the price, the food should be so much better than it is. The garden salad was just lettuce and dressing, no croutons. It looked just like one of those cheap bagged salads and tasted about the same. I got the prime rib, medium rare, and when it came out it was well done. I sent it back, which the waitress didn't seem very happy about, and got a very bland medium rare piece of prime rib. The horseradish sauce was watery and had no flavor to it. I ordered the twice baked potato, and let me tell you, if you love bright orange potatoes then this is the potato for you. I asked why it was orange and was told they like to put orange food coloring in their potatoes. ?? Why? It tasted powdery and was definitely out of the freezer section of your local Walmart. I have no idea how this place has stayed open as long as it has. It was an overall disappointing meal and we will not go back.

We went there on Valentine's Day. We had coupons that said can not be used for Sweetest Day. When we attempted to use them the server said they were not valid on Valentine's Day and said it was a mistake and would not honor them. I thought the soup was awful, did not care for the bread and the steak below average. A few days later I called to speak with a manager to discuss them not taking the coupon. First, she repeatedly told me Valentine's Day and Sweetest Day were the same thing. Second, she said it was just a mistake. I told her yes it was but they or even now she should have tried to remedy the matter. All she wanted to do was argue. I explained that my daughter is the general manager of a restaurant and upon asking her she told me absolutely they would have honored the coupon and for two reasons, one, it was their mistake and second because that is what customer service is. Again, the manager just kept saying it was a mistake - did I never make a mistake. I told her absolutely, but I try to fix it. Nothing was resolved, but it doesn't matter because I, nor any one in our party will go there again due to terrible customer service and not so good food!!

Had our belated Vday celebration on a thursday night. Not too crowded, and nice and quiet instead of loud ruckus bumbling everywhere. Our waitress was average. She was nice. The food was amazing. Then again, I've only eaten the one dish. I ordered the "Almond crusted Orange Roughy with a Hazelnut sauce"..... Like unicorns, narwhals, christmas and happiness in my mouth! I absolutely loved it! I never order fish because I'm nervous it's going to be absolutely horrific, cause let's face it, it's fish... But this one was great! Kinda sad it was only a special, because I would definitely plan on going back there if they had that. The bf ordered a half-slab and a steak fillet. He said he liked it (he's not much for words, this is why I love him so I can do most of the talking). OH, and we ordered fried zucchini as an appetizer, and I think they friend like 4 whole ones for us. The platter was HUGE! Luckily we were able to take a bunch home for later (also very yummy!) All in all, it was a good experience

We were invited to a birthday luncheon on a Sunday so we schleped out to Homer Glen. When we got there the parking lot was packed. I thought that was a good sign! When part of our party got there they were given the lunch menu, at 2:30 the lunch menus were taken away and dinner menus were given. I called on Saturday and was told lunch was served until 3:00p.m. on Sunday. The waitress seemed to be in a real hurry during the entire time she was waited on our table. The problem was there was a packed parking lot, but only a few tables occupied in the restaurant. And our waitress was one of two or three other waitresses who had maybe five tables to share. At our table everyone commented about the full parking lot and empty restaurant. Where were all those other people? The specials were rattled off without any pricing information by the waitress and it was tough to remember what they were. I felt like I was at a diner instead of a white table cloth place. The scoop on this place was that the prime rib was fantastic. Three of the guests ordered prime rib. The birthday person received the end piece of the prime rib, which all the prime rib eaters at the table said is never suppose to be plated, It was sent back and another piece was brought. The people eating the prime rib were disappointed, the meat was tough, the cuts seemed a little small and the flavor was not that great. . One person ordered the king cut which was the same size as a queen. I ordered the veal Marsala, which after ordering I was told they were out of. I was given the menu a second time and it seemed like a few seconds passed when the waitress asked if i was ready to order. I hadn't even looked at the menu. I wouldn't mind, but being rushed in a deserted restaurant is rude. I recalled a special of a half slab of ribs with three shrimp, so I opted for that. The ribs were fine, not the best I'd ever had, but they were edible, which I thought was pretty good by this point since the prime rib people were unhappy. The shrimp were very good. Two people ordered the cedar planked salmon. The report on the salmon was good. It looked good as well. 1 portion was huge and the other portion was small. .A soup or salad comes with all the entrees, plus a starch and vegetable, which was broccoli, but you can get that at a lot of places for much less. Also there was a double baked potato which a few of us ordered, it was bright orange- the waitress told us it was cheddar cheese. It was o.k. but really funky maybe they were manufactured frozen potatoes? The desserts were 1 chocolate layer cake, 3 flavors of ice cream, 3 flavors of sorbet and a home made creme burlee, I thought the desserts could have been a little more varied and interesting. A slice of cake was ordered for the birthday celebrant and each of use cut off a piece of it - I'm glad I didn't order one for myself. The cake was cold, straight from the fridge, and it was super dry. The frosting was good. During the time we were there we had to ask for refills on the ice tea and diet soda, which is not something you should have to do at a restaurant which seems be trying to be higher end. We left around 5:00 p.m. and the place seemed to be filling up. There were more waiters who began their shift while we were there and they seemed better equipped at handing their job. Overall, I thought it was overpriced for the quality you received. I would not go out of my way to go here. I'm giving 2 stars because the food was edible and that is worth 2 stars.

Bonfire -they appear to be cutting corners back on everything and it shows. It has a great name, good location, is a nice building, and is clean but it lacks ambience. The difficulity comes in when you order. The dinner salad is the smallest I have seen anywhere with very little dressing, the prime rib seems of lesser quality-meat was tough and hard to cut with a knife -might be a select or choice cut if meat but I don't think it is really a PRIME cut of meat. The lobster seems to be a crayfish and not a genuine lobster and it did not come with actual butter! How could they charge SO much for a lobster and then not even give you real melted butter-it tasted more like imatation butter flavor oil. It seemed to be nothing but liquid grease. Every one in our party agreed it is not real butter, although the waitress claimed it was. The drink glasses are very small-for a coke or 7-up. All of these money making corner cutting ideas are the reason that no one in our party of 14 will be back. Drinks should be in a 12-16 oz glass, prime rib should actually be prime rib, butter should be real melted butter ,and the salad should fill the plate and not need extra dressing. It appears the owners tried to make a slightly upscale dining experience and instead give a 1 or 2 star meal at best. There are much better places around town to go to, as you clearly don't get your moneys worth at Bonfire. Oh, and one more thing Bonfire....the waitress was so fast and pushy she had our "special family dinner" over with in about 1/2 hour! When we go out for the evening for expensive fine dining we expect fine dining 2-3 hours not fast food drive through service! I am not going to spend 50 bucks or more for a plate and then shove it down my throat so you can have a fast table turn over! Personally, I don't think Bonfire is gonna make it unless they completely change the business. Wont be coming back.

Went for my husbands birthday, he was very happy with the smaller filet, I had orange roughy under leeks and a friend had a burger. Food very good but our server did not think to ask if mustard and ketchup needed for burger and we finally flagged down someone. Food was good, and they brought him a slice of cake for his birthday. We all tried a forkful, yummy.

Very disappointed. My son & his girlfriend ordered the New York strip steak medium - it came well done. My husband ordered the filet medium & it came out rare. They were all sent back & re-done. We ordered a second round of drinks, but they came out wrong & sent back. The waitress brought out new ones, but were wrong again! We told her to forget the drinks & take them off the bill. Waitress apologized - doubt if we will be back!

I'm trying to find out what I missed looking at some of the other reviews. Nice ambiance, has the feel of a good steakhouse. Unfortunately the food didn't deliver on that promise, very lackluster interpretations on both mains & sides. Sure, you can eat here, but for that kind of money you're better off at the steakhouses in the Oak Brook area or downtown ... worth the drive.

We have been loyal customers since Bonfire opened. Unfortunatley, they have lost thier desire to remain open. Each of the past four visits have resulted in disaster. In November, we were rushed through our meal because the kitchen wanted to go home early. In December, we walked in at 8:30 and were told the restraunt was already closed... the door says 10pm. They changed thier mind and stayed open, but the bar tender closed up everything, shut off the TV and turned off all the lights before we finished our dinner. In January, we were waived off before we walked in the door with a rude... "we're closed!" Tonight, we again arrived well before posted closing at 8:40 pm. We know the menu well enough we can order the wine and meal without a menu. We ordered and told the bar tender we wanted the meal to come out staggered so we could talk and enjoy the meal. Instead, all the food showed up in less than 15 minutes with an appology that they were closing early due to low business. After complaining to the managment, we were left with one alternative. We simply paid our bill and walked out. As I said at the beginning it is clear they have lost the meaning of "customer service" and we will not be back.

beautiful restaurant, not so beautiful service/staff. last fathers day 1) my fam made reservations for din, but we still had to wait to be seated 2) all other tables got free bread, we didnt... 3) waiters/waitresses have inability to memorize daily specials. Have been here probably about 10 times with my family and they always have to read the specials off of a nasty Post-It note 4) ordered a dish that sounded amazing: Cajun fettuccine with Andouille sausage and jumbo shrimp. VERY excited for the SAUSAGE, but they ONLY GAVE ME 2 TINY SLICES. i think the dish must have been pre-made and sitting in a pot on the stove or something, and the scooper had holes or something, so all the sausages fell out. 5) all desserts are subpar and like they have been sitting in a freezer

Bonfire is a downtown steakhouse in the southwest burbs. Love the Greek skirt steak on the lunch menu. Great drinks too! Lemon Drop Martini anyone?

Gave it another shot tonight. Meal was good but not great, same as the service. Prices not commensurate with either. Nice live music on Mondays. Experience: B-

Six adults... two children at my first visit. Food was good, but not the best I've ever had. Waiter was pleasant, but nothing noteworthy. The cream of chicken soup was called "too salty" by others. I agreed. But, it's soup... not the end of the world. We had to ask for the honey mustard sauce for the chicken sandwich. No biggie... but hard to rate a place 5 stars when they don't knock it out of the park. Main dish was really good, but not 5 start worthy. My lemon sorbet for desert, served in a lemon, was so frozen I had to let it sit while everyone else finished their deserts. Again, not the end of the world. For what it's trying to be, I'd say it's just average.

We made reservations for 7 pm on a Saturday evening. We arrived about 5 minutes early but were not seated until almost 7:25. The bar seats were all taken and there were quite a few people waiting, but it seemed most of them were walk-ins. I feel if they accept a reservation for a given time, they should seat you within ten minutes of that time. That was strike one. The decor is very nice. We were seated and our waiter introduced himself. He immediately asked for our drink order, and I said I would be ordering wine, but had not yet looked at the wine list. He took my husband's drink order and then asked me again if I was ready. Talk about rushing someone! The wine list for wines by the glass was very unimpressive, better list for bottles. Our food orders were taken and our salads and bread arrived in about 10 minutes, kind of a long time to wait for bread and salad. Then, approximately 3 minutes after getting our salads, our entrees arrived. Again, feeling very rushed. My husband ordered the porterhouse steak, which he said was good but not great. I ordered the smaller cut of prime rib, which was overdone, pretty much flavorless, and without question, the toughest prime rib I've ever had. Very disappointing experience. P.S. I agree with a previous reviewer that it would be awfully nice if people in this area would just dress a little nicer to match the restaurant. This isn't a fast-food place, so something other than shabby jeans, old gym shoes and faded tee shirts would be refreshing and would really up the dining experience for everyone. I'm not saying suits and ties, folks, just a little effort!

This place was ok. I've been there 3 times, and have ordered the filet all 3 times and have been underwhelmed each time I order it. 2 of my dining companions ordered pasta and they were happy. Someone else ordered the ribs and he seemed to enjoy them. We had some kind of flourless chocolate cake for dessert, which was super rich, to the point that we each couldn't take more than a bite. Overpriced for being a suburban restaurant.

Went for a family Christmas dinner and was tremendously underwhelmed. We had a large party of 13, which I understand is a bit difficult to deal with, but my review takes that hurdle into consideration. Started with cocktails which were decent, but very slow in arriving, one main reason being that as large a group that we had, additional help should have been afforded to the waiter by management. This wasn't his only table, so the service was spotty with the lack of extra help. Appetizers and salads were decent, but when it came down to dinner, that's when the breakdown occurred. The food was delivered, albeit slowly, one server? At this point the waiter realized something was amiss, two dinners were missing. After a few minutes of confusion, he realized these two dinners weren't entered. Mistakes happen and a free cocktail was offered, which was nice, but some sort of effort should have been made to make sure the two who had no food were offered something to tide them over until it was prepared. Nope, at least 20 minutes passed before the food finally arrived. Steak doesn't take that long to cook even if it were ordered well done, which it wasn't. For the record, medium rare. As far as the food, it was a bit better than just okay. I spoke with the manager about this experience and all she could seem to do is remind me that we received a round of drinks and make excuses for not at least making the wait a bit more palatable. This is not an inexpensive restaurant and given this price point, far better service was expected. Very disappointing and probably, no definitely, last visit.

I am trying to write this review beside the fact that I was extremely tired when we ate here last night. We have eaten here several times before. I do like the dark atmosphere inside. It is very nice on the inside. The service was good, and the prices are a little higher than a chain restaurant but somewhat lower than Jack Gibbons. The people that own Bonfire also own Georgetown in New Lenox. We had a very nice meal with a very good house Red Zin for $56. We both came from work on Friday night. Since it is a little nicer here, I really wish people would take a moment to show up for dinner in clothes other than t-shirts and jeans. I can understand going to the typical Greek owned 24 hour get breakfast anytime place, but I wish people would dress better than slobs when going out. I am not being snobby, but when you see a guy in a tank top with his hairy armpits exposed, nothing says trailer trash like that.

Really good! We went here to celebrate my mother's birthday. The food and service were both excellent, and the wine list was impressive. The owners are Greek, and there were a number of Greek-inspired items on the menu, which we love. The Wood Oven Baked Goat Cheese appetizer was particularly delicious.

My husband and I have eaten here about 6 times in the last few months since we moved to the area. All visits have had good food and drinks up until the last visit. My hsuband and I have always ordered the filet mignon and an appetizer and martini's. The last time we were there the filet was horrible. My husbands tasted like it had no flavor what-so-ever and mine just flat out tasted like bad meat. We told the waiter who had the owner come over. (note she is always there, the mid 40's blonde with the long frizzy hair). She kept on asking me what was wrong with the steak and I just kept telling her ' it didnt taste good' and she insisted on being more specific so I told her' it tastes bad - like the steak was rancid!" She stood up boldy and stated " I take offense to that!" It ended up it turned into a confrontation. I said if you dont believe me, taste it yourself - she replied NO, I am not going to do that. In the end it took another 15 more minutes for new steaks which I think its uncalled for. IN the end she came to remove our plates and I told her nicely of all the times I came in here and I never printed their coupons off the internet (CHECK THEIR WEBSITE THEY ARE THERE) and each bill has always been at least 80-100 bucks and I have been made to feel bad that the steak didnt taste good like the one's before. Ididnt come into dine and insult her, I was looking for a good meal. I told her we will never return again. This didnt seem to bother her. THINK TWICE about dining here, if u have a problem with the food, they will give you a hard time AND will not COMP one thing back to you as an apology!

If the food is good I always give it high marks no matter what. Until now. The place is real nice, inside and out. They have outdoor seating and it was spotless. But as soon as you walk in, the little things just start to creep up on you. Like not letting your wife greet people when she just found out you were screwing the help. And the servers all wearing black shirts with ties. We had a women serving us and she looked straight out of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Lighting the candle when you get to the table. What century am I in? There was one thing on the menu that did not fit with anything else. Saganaki! Where'd that come from. Can I get a gyros with that. I had the chicken tortilla soup? When did I cross the boarder? It was very good though. My friend had the ceasar salad. About that time I realized that I didn't have any forks? I had the lake perch and it was very lite and flakey. They gave me 3 huge pieces. My friend had the filet and shrimp. I thought the shrimp tasted a little fishy. The steak was tender. The key lime cheese cake was great. The german chocolate cake seemed old. It was very dry and the frosting looked a little dusty. The service was spotty at best. This place has pretty good food. It has all the makings for a fine restaurant. But it's just trying to be to many things at once.

I dined here a few weeks ago with my fiancee and one of our friends. The restaurant was quite busy, and we were at first seated at a booth right by the kitchen, however, this location was very hot and we asked for a different table. The hostess showed us a table at a different spot that was more suitable. She was very polite and accommodating. For an appetizer we had the Wood Oven Baked Goat Cheese, this was ok, but a bit disappointing. It was merely tomato sauce with some goat cheese sprinkled on it. It was good, but it should have had far more cheese in it. For an entree I had the Chicken Parmesan which I found to be quite good. My friend had a filet, I did not try it, but he said that it was cooked just right and very tasty. My fiancee had the Chicken Marsala which she found to be quite good. While we found the food to be good, we were in agreement that our server was not as good. He seemed to be inattentive at times, and was a bit slow. Despite this the three of us would go here again and would recommend that a person try it at least once.
